The "us" newspaper reports that this money was supposed to have been used for the "German Winter Aid". This secret fund was allegedly personally managed by bank president Ludwig Freude, a German-Argentine businessman and convinced Nazi. But not all the money went to the Hitler party. A large portion of the wealth ended up in an account at the Swiss Credit Institution (SKA), which became Credit Suisse in 1997. So far, Credit Suisse has refused to disclose information about the whereabouts of the money, according to the lawyers of the Wiesenthal Foundation. To gain access to the information, a court order would be required. Hence, lawyers from Washington, Buenos Aires, Berlin, and Zurich are now trying to obtain such an order. "If the account was held under the name of a company and not under the name Ludwig Freude, then it is almost impossible to identify the account," the lawyers agree.
