Roller coaster shock! A 43-year-old employee died during maintenance work on one of the main attractions, the roller coaster "Taron". The accident occurred on Monday afternoon around 3pm, but the exact circumstances of the incident are still under investigation, as a spokeswoman from the Rhein-Erft district reported.
Cause of Misfortune Still Unclear
At the time, Phantasialand, which was still in its winter break, was supposed to open its doors for the new season on March 28, just in time for Maundy Thursday. The tragic incident therefore occurred shortly before the park was supposed to welcome visitors again. The news of the accident was originally brought to the public by the Cologne-based "Express". The police and the responsible safety authorities are now entrusted with clarifying the tragic events.
