In relation to the Ukraine conflict, France pledged at the NATO summit in Vilnius to deliver SCALP long-range missiles, which have a range of 250 kilometers, to Ukraine. President Emmanuel Macron stated that the delivery of weapons and equipment would be increased to support the Ukrainian armed forces in attacks at further distances. Last year, the UK delivered similar long-range missiles named "Storm Shadow" to Ukraine. France's decision to deliver long-range missiles could also lead to a rethink in the US, which has so far hesitated for fear of escalating the conflict. The ATACMS missiles, which have a greater range than the SCALP/Storm Shadow missiles, could be crucial for the ongoing Ukrainian counteroffensive in the Ukraine conflict. With the help of these long-range missiles, the Ukrainian armed forces could penetrate regions where the Russian occupying troops hold strong defensive positions.
