Actor Died of a Heart Attack After Drug Use
According to statements from his brother Christopher Stathis, Duress' drug abuse ultimately led to his death. Duress, who starred alongside Twilight's Robert Pattinson in "Good Time", passed away in November 2023 from a "heart attack caused by a cocktail of drugs", as Stathis recently revealed to "People". The actor, born in Queens, New York in 1985, made his acting debut in 2014 in the film "Heaven Knows What" by Josh and Benny Safdie. He landed the role shortly after his release from a New York prison for drug-related offenses. At the time, Duress was on the run after missing a residential drug program. In a 2017 interview with "SSense", Duress reflected: "I still think about it: if I had taken part in that program, I wouldn't have been in 'Heaven Knows What' and would probably not be an actor now."
