According to the district spokesman, the students didn't have classes that Friday, but all teachers were present for a training. Particularly upsetting is the fact that Courtney Fannon sent her husband a message just moments before her collapse. A few minutes later, she was found lifeless in the school, as reported by "USA Today". Fannon was taken to a hospital where doctors fought for her life and that of her unborn child. Ultimately, the rescue was in vain: Both Fannon and her daughter died before ever seeing the light of day. The elementary school teacher and her husband Kurtis had eagerly chosen a name for their little girl: Hadley Jaye. The due date was just weeks away.
