However, dangerous currents hidden beneath the water's surface tore them from their tires and dragged them into the depths. While Webster and the third person were able to save themselves ashore, Naomi Pomeroy was swept away by the flood. Despite immediate search operations by the rescue teams, she could only be found after several hours, but too late.
