Americans Prefer English-Speaking Countries

The New York Post points out that many Americans are primarily interested in English-speaking countries, which has led to a 1,328 percent increase in relevant search queries. Emigration is also becoming increasingly popular for Germans. According to the Federal Statistical Office, around 265,000 Germans left the country in 2023 - 20 years ago, the figure was 150,000. Switzerland and Austria are particularly popular with German retirees.
People from Germany are also drawn abroad
The number of German retirees living abroad is steadily increasing. According to the German Pension Insurance, the number of pension payments abroad has increased by 58 percent since 1997. Working individuals are also increasingly emigrating. These so-called "Expats" are particularly drawn to the USA and Switzerland. There are also financial incentives in some countries: for example, Chile offers €13,800 and a one-year work visa as part of a start-up program.
