Jamal Simmons, former Communications Director for Harris, suggested on CNN's "State of the Union" that President Joe Biden could make Harris president by resigning - here's the background.

"He could resign from his office in the next 30 days and make Kamala Harris president," Simmons explained on the show. The guests reacted surprisingly to this idea, which would help Harris to presidency before Trump officially takes over the government. Simmons apparently pursues a strategic plan with this proposal. On one hand, Harris would be relieved of the task of "overseeing the transition of her own defeat on January 6" – a task usually taken over by the vice president. On the other hand, according to Simmons, the Democratic Party could benefit from such a step by learning "to be dramatic and transparent" in order to attract public attention. Such a surprising move would dominate the news and help the Democrats learn a lesson about the importance of "drama and excitement" for the electorate. However, the reason for Harris' election defeat could rather be due to dissatisfaction with Joe Biden's leadership, as reported by the British BBC.
