Deadly Car Accident in Quito
On October 7, the young footballer's life was rocked by a severe car accident in which his colleague Roberto Cabezas and another person died instantly. As a passenger, Angulo suffered serious head injuries that required several surgeries. Despite intensive medical efforts and subsequent induction into a medically induced coma, Marco Angulo did not open his eyes again. On Monday evening, he ultimately lost the fight against his injuries.
His club, LDU Quito, published a moving statement on social networks: "It is with great regret that we must inform you that our esteemed player Marco Angulo has left us. We express our deepest condolences to his family and all those close to him. His early death is an irreplaceable loss that will forever remain in our hearts."
