As always, numerous celebrities will have to endure disgusting challenges in the Australian bush. But, a curse seems to be hanging over the show, as several participants have already passed away. Since its first season in 2004, many celebrities and less-known faces have participated in the disgusting challenges, collected stars, and fought for the coveted Jungle Crown. However, over the years, we have also had to say goodbye to some of these former participants. Here is a look back at the 'I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!' stars who are no longer with us. The first Jungle King in the history of the German IBES version was pop star Costa Cordalis. He participated in 2004 and won the title. Unfortunately, the father of Lucas Cordalis passed away in 2019 at the age of 75.
The former 'Germany's Got Talent' candidate and entertainer Daniel Küblböck took part in the first season of IBES and finished third. After his participation, he started a career as a jazz singer. Tragically, he went overboard during a cruise in 2018 and was declared dead in 2021. He was only 33 years old.
The musician, known for his carnival hit "Polonäse Blankenese", took part in the first season of IBES in 2004. He later returned for the summer edition "I'm a Celebrity - Let me back in!" Werner Böhm died in 2020 at the age of 78.
Known as Olli Klatt from the series "Lindenstraße", Willi Herren later participated in IBES and finished third in 2005. Willi Herren died in 2021 at the young age of 45 in Cologne. His widow Jasmin Herren spoke about the challenges Willi faced during her own participation in 'I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!' 2022.
