Günther Kaufmann
The actor, known from films by Rainer Werner Fassbinder and TV series such as "Derrick", took part in IBES in 2009 and finished sixth. He died in 2012 at the age of 64 from a heart attack.
Dirk Bach
Dirk Bach, known as the host of 'I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!', was a popular comedian and actor. Along with Sonja Zietlow, he joked about the candidates from 2004 until his tragic death in 2012. He died at the age of 51.
Walter Freiwald
The former host of "The Price is Right" participated in IBES in 2015 and finished sixth. In 2019, he announced he had incurable cancer and died shortly thereafter at the age of 65.
Gunter Gabriel

The emigrant and party singer, known from the Vox show "Goodbye Germany", participated in IBES in 2017. In 2018, he died at the age of 49 from lung cancer.
