The news strikes the country deeply: The legendary Kessler twins, Alice and Ellen, are dead. As BILD learned, the two passed away at their estate in Grünwald near Munich. What exactly happened in their final hours remains initially in the dark - but one thing is certain: The two women, who were inseparable all their lives, have also embarked on their last journey together.
Born on August 20, 1936, in Nerchau (Saxony), Alice and Ellen Kessler became internationally celebrated stars. As singers, dancers, actresses, and entertainers, they shaped the world of entertainment for decades. Their performances in shows like the "Perry Como Show" or the "Rolf Harris Show" made them famous worldwide. They were not only a professional unit, but also a private symbol of unshakeable connection. As early as April 2024, the twins expressed a wish to BILD that has now become a sad reality: "We want to be buried in the same urn one day," Ellen Kessler said at the time. She continued: "Together with the ashes of our beloved mother Elsa (†69) and our faithful dog Yello (†14)." They have made this last will testamentary.
On Monday noon, the news of their death reached the public. As BILD learned, the criminal police were alerted around 12 noon and then went to the sisters' estate in Grünwald. The officers of the specialist homicide unit K12 conducted an initial post-mortem examination. The result: third party involvement could be ruled out. But what exactly happened in the last hours remained initially unclear. Was it a sudden event? A conscious decision? The answer would only be revealed later.
