Plunge, Rescue and Winter Conditions
The car tumbled down roughly 30 metres of steep terrain. The man suffered serious injuries, while his 17-year-old daughter was lightly injured and was able to leave the vehicle on her own. Sölden mountain rescue freed a trapped person, provided first aid and accompanied the injured man’s transfer by Sölden Red Cross and the emergency doctor to Innsbruck.
According to police, the stretch of road was subject to a snow chain requirement — but no chains were fitted on the crashed car. Whether this contributed to the accident is not yet clear. Authorities and rescue teams point to the tricky winter conditions in the region. (Sources: DPA, police, Sölden mountain rescue)
