What the Posts Said

According to the Massachusetts District Attorney's office, Emerald's first post on May 3, 2025 declared "Trump is Dead and In the Ground By 2026." Later posts on May 15, May 30, June 14 and July 7 escalated the rhetoric, including statements about hunting the president, references to putting him in a body bag and harming Mar-a-Lago, and language in which Emerald framed his remarks as a form of duty.

Possible Penalties

If convicted, Emerald faces up to five years in prison, three years of supervised release and a fine of up to $250,000 on the federal counts.
