Cage says he enjoys alternating between heroic and darker characters and does not want to be pigeonholed into a single type of role, embracing variety throughout his career.
More than twenty years later, Cage returns to Spider-Man territory as Ben Reilly in the live-action Spider-Noir series. He previously voiced the character in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and recently attended the New York City premiere with co-stars Brendan Gleeson, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez, Lukas Haas and Abraham Popoola. Cage explained he blended influences from classic Hollywood figures like James Cagney, Humphrey Bogart and Edward G. Robinson with Stan Lee’s Spider-Man, revisiting older films to capture their aura. Spider-Noir premieres on Prime Video on May 27 and will be available in both black-and-white and color versions.
