A pre-ceremony video showed Olympic champion Sir Chris Hoy and actor Greg McHugh in kilts answering a mysterious call and being asked to help escort the royals from Balmoral. Style and Substance

The couple matched in blue: Charles in a navy suit and pink tie, Camilla in a royal blue pantsuit. Later the King used his opening speech to highlight plastic pollution and the aim to protect 30% of the world's oceans by 2030, praising communities, athletes and volunteers for their support of the Baton Relay over the past 500 days. Earlier royal fun included Charles joking "Exterminate!" during a 2013 Dalek moment, a visit Matt Smith said began from the King's long-standing interest in the show.
