Crews were seen installing a new star to replace the defaced one on Tuesday, Sept. 1. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce said repairs were set up late last week after a fan posted photos showing many scratches. Ana Martinez, a chamber spokesperson, confirmed the vandalism and said the Hollywood Historic Trust, which maintains and repairs the Walk of Fame stars, is handling the restoration. The crew completed the first phase and the star will cure and be polished on Friday for fans to enjoy.
